Some would say if you can’t do something twice you’re just a one hit wonder, so Double took the same technique used on his previous painting, “Ridin Dirty”, & incorporated foot & shoe prints, and hand prints instead of tire tracks. Layering the background helped create textures & hints references at the crime tv show, “Forensic Files”, through patterns & prints while demonstrating how evidence is always left behind on crime scenes. It took months to gather all the ingredients to cultivate his latest body of work; the usage of Crime Scene tape, book covers, and a bank note that presents Murtala Muhammed, a Nigerian general who was assassinated in 1976, adds depth to the meaning of you can run, but you can’t hide. Double’s utilization of placement, hues, & contrast show how anything without life can be transformed into life while emphasizing the importance and relevance of media & imagery through art. Always bear in mind that you can travel the world, go far, far away, even attempt to disappear, but no matter how far you go, you can run, but you can’t hide when wanted.
